These last two week have been a struggle for me. Sick, traveling, hosting, getting ready for a garage sale…. feeling a bit dry in my spirit, ya know?
I was telling a girlfriend this morning, as we were walking, that I am a little shaky going into this one because of the "dryness."
Please pray I would be be focused vertically, on Christ and His perfect plans.
Philippians 4:6
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
It has never been so obvious to me that I do not live on bread alone.
Justin and a friend reminded me to thankful. I believe being thankful uproots anxiousness that easy tangles and chokes the life right out of a girl.
I have MUCH to be thankful for!
*A Great God that is relentless to pursue my heart!
*A husband that loves me even when I am ugly (and I am not talking about physically, although he is awesome about that too ;)).
*Kids that are fun and full of JOY!
*Friends, oh I have good friends!
*Great neighbors, I just love them!
*Family, still loving the time we had together.
*Motrin and replacement hormones, I am thankful.
*Nieces that are prego. Makes my heart warm.
*Adoptions. Such a picture of redemption.
*The fellowship that we are a part of and the men that are passionate about Christ! Exciting!
*Line dry sheets. Kinda obsessed with this one!
Be blessed, be thankful!
Thank you for praying!
Praying for you all, Shauna!

ReplyDeleteLove you!
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

I love you.
Love you. Lifting you in prayer.
ReplyDeleteYou will be and are in my prayers!!! Strength and healing to your very tired body and soul!!!! Love you very much!
ReplyDeleteSha? I'm here right along with you. Knowing this day is coming up for Dawson and you guys, my soul has been gearing up...lots of prayer, you know I am! Love you!
ReplyDeleteHey, Shauna. I don't think it's that unusual to feel that way when you are encountering illness, heavy stressors, raising children, traveling, etc. Even if you weren't tired or "dry", facing the medical testing and diagnosis is just a place where we are more aware of NOT being in control and feel that at a lot of different levels. We have to work to relinquish that to God. The experience with Dawson is one you can't just take care of...it requires waiting and depending on God...we get so used to "handling" things, and you can't with this. Giving thanks to God is a great way to help combat the feelings of helplessness and fear. Lois and I frequently speak of those things we are thankful for and it does help us refocus. I can say that I have had periods of fatigue and depression just from the weight of the experiences, and believe that God will raise me up. God will raise you up. Don't beat yourself up over where you are...accept it, call out to God, give thanks, and keep moving. Our adequacy really is in God, not ourselves.
ReplyDeleteThank you Glenn. I understand this. Miss you and Lois!
