Perseverance Then Endurance!

I am in awe of my heavenly father. I am in awe that he has something for me always and that if I truly seek him I will find Him and he will transform me from the inside out - something I need so desperately. I am so in awe!

In my time with Gods awesome word it seemed like everything I read lately either said to persevere or talked about persevering. I was/am really trying to take hold of that and walk that everyday with the tools God is giving me.

Then my sister was given a passage Romans 15:5 "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus,"

That was yesterday and then in my morning time this morning I was reading in Revelations and it was talking about "patient endurance"(Rev 13:10). I had been thinking about "patient endurance" and what that meant all day and then my sister pointed out that that was exactly what the Romans verse was talking about. I perked up and realized I better get into this, God is trying to teach me something here. I looked up the definition of endurance and in one of the definitions it said - The state or fact of persevering. I just about jumped out of my seat! That told me I am IN the race now is time to endure! Wow! Oh how I want to be in the race for Christ Jesus.

Thank you Jesus for choosing me to be in the race. I pray you lead me along this trail and help me to patiently endure. Amen

Merry Chirstmas!

Our view as we headed to hunt for our Christmas Tree!
Like father like son!

Hunting for that perfect tree.

Hunter & Dawson (and Daddy) did a good job cutting it down.

Merry Christmas!

~Songs~

I was sitting here listening to a couple of songs that have come to mean a great deal to me. In fact this summer Brandon Heath's song "Give Me Your Eyes" became a prayer of mine - well be careful what you pray for God just might give it to you!

Look down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight

Touch down on the cold black top
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared

Chorus
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
The ones that are far beyond my reach
Give me you heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what's underneath
There's a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He's out of work, He's buying time

Chorus

I’ve been here a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just move and pass me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
I need a second glance
Give me a second chance
To see the way you’ve seen the people all along

Chorus

The other song that I could/can relate with is Sanctus Real - "Whatever You're Doing"

It’s time for healing, time to move on,
it’s time to fix what’s been broken too long
Time to make right what has been wrong;
it’s time to find my way to where I belong

Chorus:
There’s a wave that’s crashing over me, and all I can do is surrender
Whatever You’re doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but somehow there’s peace
And it’s hard to surrender to what I can’t see, but I’m giving in to something heavenly

Time for a milestone, time to begin again, re-evaluate who I really am
Am I doing everything to follow Your will or just climbing aimlessly over these hills?
So show me what it is You want from me
I give everything – I surrender

Chorus:

Time to face up, clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out that I’ve wanted to say for so many years
Time to release all my held back tears

Whatever You’re doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but I believe …
You’re up to something bigger than me
Larger than life, something heavenly

Whatever You’re doing inside of me
It feels like chaos, but now I can see
This is something bigger than me
Larger than life
Something heavenly, something heavenly

Time to face up, clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out

When I sit back and reflect upon God's amazing forgiveness, mercy, grace, and all that is good I am humbled. What an amazing God we serve!

*Verses and Prayer for the week*

James 1:24 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of you faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Galatians 5:7 "You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you."

Lord I will look to you for all things for You are the one who has called me. I will keep my eyes upon You. Thank you for Your renewing, refreshing Word. Thank you for being my compass pointing me to the truth. Amen
